1. Can you give a brief overview of the differences between the various room categories in the main resort?

Sea Breeze Studio - our entry level, located at first floor level with a lofty feel, fan cooled, conveniently close the main resort amenities such as bar, restaurant, spa; designed for couples looking for a luxurious base from which to explore the island.

Beach Villa - Ideal for couples wanting a little more privacy than with a Sea Breeze Studio, located in the gardens, containing a bedroom with en suite indoor shower and separate toilet and vanity. The open-air living room is positioned to the side of the bedroom with great sea views. All Beach Villas have the option to use fans and/or air conditioning.

Beach Villa Suite - Substantially larger than a Beach Villa with a separate double bedroom with ensuite walk-in dressing and separate toilet, and the huge lounge area with a daybed, a sofa and desk, positioned in front of the bedroom. The Suite also has separate, 25 sqm large bathroom, open air, with the addition of a bathtub for two as well, of course also with the compulsory sea view. In this room, one is able to fit easy one additional guest, young or adult. All Suites have the option to use fans and/or air conditioning.

Family Beach Villa - Large family villa with separate double bedroom and second double bed in an open plan sleeping area, a large lounge space and family bathroom. Two of our family villas have bath tubs and a third has a beautiful garden bathroom with 2 shower areas. Due to it’s unique open-air design, only fans are needed.

Beachfront Family Villa (2 Bedrooms) - is larger than the regular Family Beach Villa with 2 separate double bedrooms and a living area at the front of the villa, with the option to use fans and/or AC. The villa has a large family bathroom with bathtub accessible from the master bedroom as well as a second bathroom. The Villa location makes is our premium family villa, as it is located right on the beachfront with a seemingly private beach area.

Private Tented Lodge - located on the hill behind the resort with the most spectacular views onto the islands, it offers one bedroom with ensuite bathroom in African Safari tent. Glamourous camping or “Glamping”.

2. How to qualify for the complimentary 'extras' I see advertised on the home page?

By booking directly with us you will automatically qualify for free use of our kayaks and bicycles as well as Wi-Fi across the resort. If you make a reservation for 5 nights or more your booking will include a complimentary one way scheduled transfer as well or on request a direct transfer with 50% discount.

3. When to pay for my reservation?

All reservations are only guaranteed upon receipt of valid credit card details. If you make your reservation with one of our Early Bird or Last Minute offers, then full payment is required at the time of reservation (booking), this is a non-refundable payment. If you are not booking with a special offer you may complete the payment at your point of check out from the resort.

4. Can I amend my reservation after I have made the booking?

You can make a cancellation to your reservation up to 1 day prior to the check in date without charge, except for bookings made under discounted charges such as early bird or last minute bookings. Of course we are always willing to help in any way we can when last minute changes may occur but the sooner you can contact us the better.

5. How to get to Koyao Island Resort?

We provide various transfer options to the resort from both Phuket and Krabi. We can organise a longtail boat direct to our resort beach front for THB 4,800 (total for up to 6 persons) or a private speedboat transfer for THB12,000 (total for up to 8 persons), both of these options include a taxi service from your location in Phuket or Krabi town area.
We also offer what we call a scheduled transfer which includes taxi service from your location in Krabi/Phuket and then boat ticket to join the public boat service i.e. ferry and a taxi to meet you at the pier on Koh Yao Noi to bring you to the resort. This is THB1,200 per person for pick-up at the airports. Pickups from your hotel in Phuket and Krabi we gladly quote you.
Please note that if you wish to travel utilizing the public boat service then the last boat departs both Krabi and Phuket at 5:30pm daily. After this a direct longtail boat service can be booked until 6pm or thereafter a private speedboat up until 9pm.
Please also note that for your departure journey, if you need to take a flight, the earliest arrival time at Krabi airport would be 9am and for Phuket 7:30am if using the public boat service. Also public boat service is not guaranteed and can be full or cancelled at short and sometimes even without notice.
We also offer private longtail transfer service from other locations. The most popular are Khao Lak THB6,000, Khao Sok THB7,500 and Koh Lanta THB7,000, all of which include up to 6 persons.

6. What time is check in and check out?

Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 12pm, however if availability permits we are happy to be flexible with this.

7. Do you have a restaurant in the resort?

Yes. The Pum Pui Restaurant is open all day serving different breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Snacks are also available in the bar in the afternoon and evening. For lunch we serve a mix of international comfort food, salads as well as some of the favorite Thai dishes. Dinner time, we specialize in exquisite Thai dishes which you are encouraged to try 5 or 6 dishes per couple to give you the Thai experience of trying a few tastes. Popular is also the daily brought in fish and seafood from our fishermen.

8. Are there shops and other restaurants on the island?

There are numerous food outlets located around the island from street food to more local Thai restaurants. The main road around the island is 14km so it doesn't take too long to reach any of these if you wish to go outside of the resort to eat.
The main village is 7km from the resort where there are souvenir, food and clothing shops available as well as a post office and a pharmacy and a bank where you can get currency exchanged.

9. Is there an ATM on the island?

There is an ATM within walking distance of the resort as well as in the main village.

10. Do you have a diving school on the island?

Yes, you can contact them directly prior to your arrival with any questions you may have or we can arrange a meeting with them for you at the resort once you are here.

11. Can you snorkel in Koh Yao Noi?

Due to the presence of mangroves North of the resort, the water is sometimes not clear enough for good snorkeling, however we offer many full day excursions that can take you to nearby islands that offer amazing snorkeling opportunities.

12. What is the expectation for the weather at different times of the year?

We enjoy a tropical climate with more or less the same temperatures all year round, hardly ever going below 25 °C. June to mid-October, we experience more often short heavy tropical showers but generally cooler. We call this the Green Season. It remains pleasant as there are plenty of sunny days during the monsoon as well we are situated on the Lee side and receive considerable less rain than Phuket or Krabi. From October to March, we call it the Cool Season (28°C to 32°C), hotter than usual it is from April to May, however hardly any rain.

13. How can we explore the rest of the island?

The resort is very conveniently located for exploring the island. You can use our free mountain bikes or rent an automatic scooter from our reception. There are also a number of outlets within walking distance of the resort as well. We also have kayaks available complimentary for exploring by sea.
The roads on Koh Yao Noi are very quiet and as of yet we do not have many cars here so it is very stress free to get around, however if you would prefer not to ride a scooter then there are also taxi services available.

14. Is there anything to do at the resort to mark a special occasion?

Yes, we can organize a private dining experience in a beautiful beachside location in the resort or at your villa. We also arrange dinner at a nearby island for something extra special.
